Role Overview
The Vice President of Transportation will be a founding member of our executive team, responsible for building our transportation program from the ground up and ensuring seamless integration of upcoming acquisitions. This leader will design, execute, and scale a national transportation strategy that supports parcel, LTL, and FTL shipping, while strengthening relationships with carriers and technology partners.
This is a builder role: ideal for a leader who can combine strategic vision with operational execution, and who thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
Requirements
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, parcel, or 3PL logistics.
Proven success in building or scaling transportation networks at a growth-stage or mid-market logistics company.
Strong knowledge of parcel carriers, regional delivery models, and multi-modal strategies (LTL, FTL, final mile).
M&A integration experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities
Build & Lead Transportation Program
Develop and launch SMB Supply Chain’s transportation strategy covering parcel, LTL, and FTL networks.
Establish KPIs for service quality, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction.
Select and implement best-in-class TMS (or enhance SMB ShipSuite® with transportation modules).
Carrier & Vendor Strategy
Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with regional and national carriers.
Develop a diversified carrier strategy to support SMB clients with flexibility and cost savings.
Ensure compliance, safety, and service-level standards across the network.
M&A Integration
Lead the transportation integration process for acquired logistics providers.
Standardize processes, systems, and reporting across acquisitions.
Partner with finance and operations teams to unlock synergies and drive margin expansion.
Team Leadership
Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing transportation team.
Instill a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Fulfillment, Technology, and Finance leaders to align transportation with broader supply chain goals.
Partner with the executive team on strategic growth initiatives and capital deployment.
